Goaltender Sebastian Cossa skated in his second full season with the Griffins and showed a 21-15-5 record with a 2.45 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in an AHL career-high 41 regular-season games. Cossa ranked among the AHL leaders in the regular season in games played (T8th), minutes played (2,424:37, 7th), wins (T10th), goals-against average (11th), and save percentage (T13th). He represented the Griffins at his first AHL All-Star Classic and also registered his first pro point with an assist on Jan. 15 against Chicago. Cossa then produced a 0-2 ledger in the postseason with a 4.51 goals-against average and a .868 save percentage in two outings. The 22-year-old made his NHL debut with Detroit on Dec. 9 at Buffalo, collecting a 6-5 shootout win behind 12 saves and two stops in the shootout. Cossa became the first goalie in NHL history to win his debut via a shootout in a relief effort.
