Right wing Joel L’Esperance skated in his second season with the Griffins and registered 28 points (16-12—28), 32 penalty minutes and a minus-four rating in 59 regular-season games. He then posted four points (2-2—4) and four penalty minutes in nine postseason outings. The four points during the playoffs tied his career-high mark for a postseason first set in 2018 with the Texas Stars.

By the Numbers 

300 – Scored two goals during his 300th game as a professional on Nov. 24 against the Manitoba Moose. He then scored another goal during his 300th game in the AHL on March 16 against the Iowa Wild. 

200 – Secured his 200th pro point with a goal on Dec. 27 at the Rockford IceHogs. He later recorded his 200th AHL point with an assist on Jan. 13 against Rockford.  

100 – Potted a goal during his 100th game as a Griffin on Jan. 5 at the Iowa Wild.  

5 – Enjoyed a team-high five-game goal streak from Dec. 27-Jan. 6, which tied his career-high run.    

8 – Missed eight total games due to rehabbing an injury, including six straight contests from Jan. 26-Feb. 13.

4 – Collected four game-winners throughout the regular season, which was one short of his career-high mark of five set during the 2018-19 campaign with the Texas Stars.    

4 – His four points in the playoffs tied his career best during the postseason, while his 10% shooting percentage finished as his best in the playoffs. 

2 – Scored a power-play goal in consecutive games from Jan. 5-6 at the Iowa Wild. 

28 – His 28 points, 16 goals and 12 assists during the regular season were all his fewest totals throughout his professional career. His previous lows were 24 goals (2021-22 Texas), 15 assists (2019-20 Texas) and 40 points (2019-20). 

3 – Went on a season-high three-game assist streak from Feb. 24-28 (0-3—3).  

3 – Logged three multi-point outings on Nov. 24 against Manitoba (2-0—2), Dec. 5 at Toronto (1-1—2), and on Feb. 16 versus Cleveland (1-1—2). His two goals on Nov. 24 tied a career high for most goals in a single game.   

2 – Scored a career-high two power-play goals during the Calder Cup Playoffs (May 15 at Milwaukee, May 24 versus Milwaukee).   

3 – Notched a three-game point streak during the playoffs from May 3-15 (1-2—3).
