Ticket Policies
Van Andel Arena has adopted a No Bag policy, permitting no bags, backpacks, or purses, other than those required for medical or parenting needs, into the venue. Small clutches no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" x 2" will be permitted. Bags in the medical/essential category will be screened by security personnel. Guests with parenting/medical bags must enter through the ADA/Box office entrance located on the far west side of the main entrance of the building to undergo additional security screening.
The No Bag policy reduces contact between guests and security staff by eliminating the need to search for these items. This is part of ongoing efforts to promote a contact-free experience. This Policy is subject to change based on event policy.
Designated handicap seating is available in upper bowl sections 225, 226, 227, 228, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 210, and 220. Limited lower bowl handicap seating is available. Companion seats are available in the same sections. If accommodations are needed in place of an advanced-purchase ticket, please visit guest services behind section 104 to receive relocated tickets to a handicap-accessible seating area. However, a limited number of tickets are available for relocation. Prior arrangements can be made through the Grand Rapids Griffins office by calling (616) 774-4585. To purchase accessible seating tickets, please get in touch with us by calling (616) 774-4585.
Tickets will not be released or held without payment. Payments may be made by cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express only. Checks will be accepted for ticket packages through the Grand Rapids Griffins sales department only and cannot be used for single-game sales.
Van Andel Arena enforces a strict no-re-admission policy. Any guests exiting the facility will not be allowed re-admission.
There are no refunds for tickets purchased. This stipulation is marked on each ticket. Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone an event, this information will be posted as soon as it is determined. Once payment is received, the customer CANNOT cancel an order and receive a refund or exchange tickets for any reason. Please verify that the seat location, quantity, and game date are correct before purchasing. All sales are final.
No refunds or exchanges; however, in the event of cancellation, you will receive a refund, less service fees. If a game is postponed, your ticket will be valid for the new game date once announced.
Seat Geek is the only authorized ticket reselling marketplace of the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Any other resale or attempted resale at a price higher than that printed herein is grounds for seizure or cancellation without refund or other compensation. To keep customers informed, we would like to re-familiarize you with the laws in Michigan governing ticket sales and resale, more commonly known as “scalping.” In Michigan, ticket scalping (selling tickets for more than their face value) is a misdemeanor (90 days/$100 fine). MCL 750.465 (6). Under MCL 750.465 (2), if the resale is being done with the written permission of the owner, lessee, operator, or manager of the theater, circus, athletic grounds, or place of public entertainment or amusement where the event occurs, then the sales can be made at locations other than the box office where the event occurs. The owner, lessee, operator, or manager must know and provide written permission to charge more than the box office price.
Full, partial, and flex plan ticket packages for the Grand Rapids Griffins are available at various price ranges. Call a Griffins Account Executive at (800) 2-HOCKEY or visit the Ticket Sales table at the top of the main stairs on game nights for season ticket information.
Suites and hospitality areas are not available to purchase on game days. Prior arrangements must be made through the Grand Rapids Griffins group sales department by calling (800) 2-HOCKEY. Supplies and locations are limited.
You can upgrade your seat location with a flex ticket voucher or any voucher involving complimentary tickets. The price charged will be the difference between the face value of your current seat price and the face value of the upgraded seat price on a per-ticket basis. The ability to upgrade tickets is based on current ticket availability. Previously purchased tickets, including single game, special packages, and other offers, are not eligible for upgrade. All ticket voucher upgrades must be completed during the initial purchase.
Will-call tickets will only be released to the person whose name appears on the will-call envelope or whose name was provided in the transaction. Tickets are alphabetized by last name of the person picking them up. First and last names are required for any tickets left. Company names are not accepted. No person will be given tickets designated for another person without prior authorization. Proper photo identification (valid driver's license or passport) is required to claim your tickets. Your order confirmation number and purchasing credit card may also be required, if applicable, or in lieu of a photo ID. Name changes will not be accepted via the telephone, and information regarding will-call tickets will not be given out over the phone. Tickets purchased in advance that were left for you can be picked up on the day of the game only at the designated will-call windows located at the Van Andel Arena box office. Will-call tickets may be picked up no earlier than one and one-half hours before the game's scheduled start time and will be available at the box office until the end of the first period. Tickets cannot be picked up at The Zone before the game. However, after the box office closes at the end of the first period, will-call tickets will be taken to The Zone for late-arrival pick-up. Tickets purchased for another game will not be available until the night of that game unless prior arrangements have been made with a Grand Rapids Griffins ticket account executive. Tickets or passes left by team players usually arrive at the box office approximately one hour before the event's start time. Unfortunately, box office personnel cannot know who is to receive player tickets until they are delivered to the box office by locker room assistants. Tickets left by players, coaches, officials, contest hosts, or any other third party not associated with the Grand Rapids Griffins are responsible for getting tickets to the box office in a timely manner. No exceptions will be made without direct approval to print tickets. Please get in touch with the party responsible for leaving your tickets if concerns arise. Tickets cannot be purchased at the will-call window as it is provided as a convenience to our guests for the sole purpose of distributing tickets. Payment for tickets will not be accepted at will call unless a prior arrangement has been made with a Griffins ticket account executive.
The Grand Rapids Griffins do not handle ticket sales for other Van Andel Arena events. For more information regarding Van Andel Arena events, please call (616) 742-6610, visit the box office during regular business hours, or visit the Van Andel Arena website.
The Grand Rapids Griffins' box office opens 90 minutes before the game's scheduled start time. The turnstiles generally open one hour before game time. The box office remains open until the end of the first period. After this time, tickets can be purchased and/or picked up (will call tickets) at The Zone until the end of the second intermission. After this time, tickets are no longer available for that night's game; however, tickets for future Griffins home games are available to purchase at The Zone.
In the case of a Winning Wednesday game, the box office will be open promptly at the end of the game to exchange tickets for the next applicable game if the Grand Rapids Griffins win. The whole ticket must be available to exchange. Partial tickets will not be accepted. No purchases or upgrades are available at this time. Ticket stubs of exchanged tickets are kept for internal purposes and will not be returned.
Vouchers, season ticket exchanges, and flex tickets can be redeemed at The Zone or the ticket sales windows at the box office on the night of a game. Only originals will be accepted. These are redeemed based on availability, so it is suggested to redeem them at least one week before the desired game. College student tickets are available only on Friday games and are limited to one ticket per student ID per person. Library card tickets are available only on Wednesday and Sunday games (excluding New Year's Eve) and are limited to up to four tickets per library card. Any ticket packages offered by the Grand Rapids Griffins do not apply to day-of-game sales and are unavailable through the box office or The Zone. All package sales must be done at least one day before the desired game through the Grand Rapids Griffins ticket sales department.
Purchasing tickets for Grand Rapids Griffins games at Van Andel Arena can be done at the team’s official retail provider, The Zone, located on the west side of the arena (tickets purchased at The Zone incur a $1.00 service charge per ticket), online through our website, or at the Van Andel Arena box office on game day (one and one-half hours before game time). Tickets purchased online or by phone incur a $4.50-$5.50 fee per ticket. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Personal and company checks are not accepted. All credit card transactions will appear on your bank statement from "GR GRIFFINS HOCKEY."
eVenue and Paciolan are the only authorized ticket-selling agents of the Grand Rapids Griffins. StubHub is the only authorized marketplace of the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Griffins are not responsible for authentic tickets purchased from any other source. Any counterfeits or invalid tickets will not be honored. If you purchase from a non-authorized agent, you risk purchasing a lost or stolen ticket that is not valid for admittance into Van Andel Arena for the game. Van Andel Arena and the Grand Rapids Griffins employ scanning technology for game admittance. Only valid tickets will be scanned to authorize entry into the arena for the event. Lost or stolen tickets may be de-activated and thus will not be valid for entry into the arena. Any ticket that is reprinted makes the original ticket void, as the barcode becomes inactive. Anyone who purchases tickets from a scalper or ticket broker does so at his or her own risk.
Children under (the age of) two are admitted free of charge and are expected to sit in a parent’s lap. Children 2 years and over must have a ticket.
No exchanges are allowed for individual game tickets. This stipulation is clearly marked on each ticket. Full Season and 20-Game Plan tickets may be exchanged before a game day under the "Never a Wasted Ticket Program" subject to availability. Once a game is played and your season ticket has gone unused, it is no longer exchangeable.
Mobile tickets are delivered specifically designed for Apple Wallet and Google Pay/Google Wallet. Mobile tickets are sent to you immediately after purchase or accessible on your Griffins Account Manager using the credentials created at purchase. You will receive two emails after your purchase - one will be your tickets, which can be scanned on your smartphone or added to your digital wallet, and the second email will be your order confirmation email, which does not include actual tickets.
Grand Rapids Griffins flex tickets can be redeemed at any time before the game at The Zone or any of the ticket sales windows at the box office one and one-half hours before the start of the game. You may exchange flex tickets online through your Griffins Account Manager if selected. Flex tickets cannot be redeemed over the phone and must be redeemed in person or online (if applicable). Each flex ticket designates a specific price level where the tickets are valid. It is suggested that flex tickets should be redeemed at least one week in advance of the desired game, as they are based on availability. A flex ticket IS NOT A SEATED TICKET and must be turned in for a seated ticket. Flex tickets can be upgraded based on availability.
General admission tickets are only available when there are no available seating options. These tickets are always marked ‘GA’. Guidelines for general admission tickets are handed out when a purchase is considered. General admission tickets do not guarantee a specific seat location. General admission tickets allow you to sit in an unused seat no earlier than 25 minutes after the scheduled game time. Should a ticket holder arrive with a ticket for the seat you occupy, that ticket holder has priority over you. You will need to vacate that seat.
Please contact the Grand Rapids Griffins group sales department by calling (800) 2-HOCKEY on special pricing for groups of 10 or more.
All games are 'Rain or Shine' events. Only in extreme inclement weather are games canceled or postponed. Rain and snow are not considered inclement weather. Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone a game, this information will be posted as soon as it is determined.
The Grand Rapids Griffins are not responsible for lost, stolen, destroyed, or forgotten tickets. Please remember that game tickets are like money and should be secured like cash. Tickets lost, stolen, or destroyed before the game may be replaced by contacting the Grand Rapids Griffins ticket operations department. Only the account holder may request and receive replacement tickets. Please be prepared to present a photo ID, the actual credit card used for the purchase, the confirmation number, and the exact seat location.
The Grand Rapids Griffins reserve the right not to replace lost or stolen tickets. Account holders caught fraudulently requesting replacement tickets are subject to account cancellation and other legal remedies that may be available to the Grand Rapids Griffins. As a security measure, tickets for the Grand Rapids Griffins are printed on thermal paper. The writing on the face of tickets is burned onto the ticket surface rather than printed. Tickets stored in cars, especially glove boxes on dashboards or other places of extreme heat, may turn completely black and become unreadable. This can happen even if they are in an envelope. The Grand Rapids Griffins may be unable to issue relocation passes if the original seats cannot be determined. Tickets should be returned to the point of purchase to determine if they can be replaced. This cannot be done over the phone. Any ticket that is reprinted makes the original ticket void, as the barcode is deactivated.
