MRAZEK AND PEARCE SWAP PLACES

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Monday reassigned goaltender Petr Mrazek to the Grand Rapids Griffins from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye and reassigned goaltender Jordan Pearce to the Walleye from the Griffins.

Mrazek, 20, ranks among the top goaltenders in the ECHL after his first three professional games with a 2.02 goals against average (14th) and a 0.944 save percentage (T5th). The Ostrava, Czech Republic, native has posted a 2-1 record with Toledo, averaging 34 saves per start. The 6-foot-1, 187-pound netminder registered a 30-13-6 record with a 2.84 GAA and three shutouts in 2011-12 as a member of the OHL’s Ottawa 67s.

Pearce, 26, places among the Griffins’ all-time goaltending leaders with 72 games played (8th), 3,804:30 minutes (9th) and 1,738 saves (8th). The Anchorage, Alaska, native also sports a 24-29-6 record with a 3.23 GAA and two shutouts in his AHL career. Pearce, who posted a 19-23-1 record and three shutouts in 47 games with the Walleye from 2009-12, shows an 0-3 record with a 4.38 GAA and a 0.847 save percentage in three appearances with Grand Rapids this season.

The Griffins will head to Texas this week to play three games in three nights against San Antonio (Friday at 8:30 p.m. EDT), Texas (Saturday at 8 p.m. EDT) and Houston (Sunday at 6:05 p.m. EST), as they open up a stretch of six games in the first 10 days of November.
