>Registration is still open for the Griffins’ 2004 Youth Hockey Camp, to be held in early August at Griff’s IceHouse at Belknap Park (30 Coldbrook NE). Head coach Danton Cole and defenseman Travis Richards, along with Dave Van Drunen, Derek King and Florida Panthers defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski, will be among the instructors during two week-long camps, Aug. 2-6 and Aug. 9-13.


>Children age 7-16 will receive position-specific instruction in such skills as skating, stride development, stick handling, balance, form, shooting and passing. Each week will feature 20 hours of ice time and five hours of dry-land training, under the guidance of Griffins assistant coach Greg Ireland.


>Cost for the camp, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily and includes lunch, a Griffins jersey and hat, is $300 per child per week. For registration or additional information, please call Kelly at (616) 774-4585 ext. 3025.
