GRIFFINS REWARD SUMMER READERS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Twenty thousand children throughout seven West Michigan counties – from the cities of Douglas to Carson City, Hastings to Fremont, and all points in between – will turn their summer reading enjoyment into wintertime fun, thanks to partnerships between the Grand Rapids Griffins and 54 local libraries.
For the third consecutive year, the Griffins will reward kids who complete their local library’s summer reading program with a voucher that can be redeemed for two free tickets to a 2010-11 regular season game.
Among the libraries the Griffins have partnered with are the eight branches of the Grand Rapids Public Library, all 18 branches of the Kent District Library, and 28 libraries that are members of the Lakeland Library Cooperative. Participating libraries include:
As each library’s summer reading program requirements, policies, dates and reward distribution procedures vary, please contact your local branch for more information.
The Griffins have long supported local libraries and promoted reading through initiatives such as their Reading Goals program with local schools, Library Night ticket discount and Reading Day promotions, as well as their participation in GRPL’s Circulating Memberships program.
