GRIFFINS ANNOUNCE STAFF CHANGES

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Wednesday announced the hiring of Brett Wardrop as a corporate sales account manager and Jordan Torres as a season ticket sales account executive, as well as the promotion of Bridget Eklund to corporate sales account manager.

Wardrop comes to the Griffins after working the past six years as the youth market director for the American Heart Association. Originally from New Jersey, Wardrop earned a degree in business administration and communications from Aquinas College in 1995. He will be responsible for selling and maintaining corporate sponsorship accounts in his new role with the Griffins.

Torres has been a member of the Griffins’ staff as a ticket services intern since September, during which time the Caledonia native has also worked as a fourth grade paraprofessional at William C. Abney School. A 2009 graduate of Aquinas College with a degree in business and sports management, Torres will sell and maintain season ticket accounts in his new full-time position.

Eklund started her career with the Griffins’ ticket sales department last February after coming over from the Detroit Red Wings’ front office. A Kentwood native and 2006 graduate of Grand Valley State University with a degree in public and nonprofit administration, Eklund will now sell and maintain corporate sponsorship accounts.
