GRIFFINS ANNOUNCE FRONT OFFICE PROMOTIONS
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday announced the promotions of Matt Batchelder to vice president of ticket sales, Zack Krywyj to group sales account manager, and Mike Myeno to season ticket sales and customer service account manager. All three played pivotal roles in the Griffins winning the 2013-14 AHL Ticket Sales Department of the Year award.
After becoming senior director of ticket sales in 2012, Batchelder helped lead the Griffins to attendance increases for the third and fourth consecutive seasons. During the 2013-14 campaign, the Griffins achieved eight regular season sellouts, ranked second in the AHL in regular season attendance (8,220 per game) with the team’s highest average since 1999-2000, and paced the league in average attendance during each of the first two rounds of the Calder Cup Playoffs. Batchelder, a 14-year veteran of the organization, resides in Grand Rapids with his wife, Wendy, and his three children, Ana, Sam and Issac.
Now in his fourth season with the Griffins, Krywyj steps into his new role following three seasons as a group sales account executive. Last season, Krywyj helped the team become one of just four in the AHL to earn over $1 million in group ticket revenue, a threshold which it achieved for the second straight year. A native of Strongsville, Ohio, Krywyj acquired a sports and promotions management/marketing and advertising degree from Northwood University in 2010.
Myeno joined the Griffins in 2011 as the team’s ticket sales, service and database intern, before accepting a full-time position as a season ticket sales and customer service executive upon graduating from Grand Valley State University with a business administration degree in 2012. Last season, the Kalamazoo, Mich., native ranked first in the AHL’s Western Conference in full-season equivalent (FSE) ticket revenue, helping the Griffins realize the largest increase in FSE ticket revenue among the league’s 30 teams.
