GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins and Detroit Red Wings legend Chris Chelios raised a total of $784.73 for The Salvation Army on Tuesday during their three-hour bell-ringing stint at the Kentwood Family Fare at 60th and Kalamazoo Ave.

The team of Chelios and Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill not only easily won its 2-3 p.m. battle with assistant coaches Jim Park and Spiros Anastas by a whopping $435.95 to $30.45 margin, but it also raised more than all the Griffins assistant coaches and players combined.

The funds raised Tuesday will go toward The Salvation Army Kroc Center's programs and activities that provide life-changing spiritual, educational and wellness experiences for everyone in our community.
