2018-19 in Review: Jarid Lukosevicius
Forward Jarid Lukosevicius (LOO-koh-SAVAGES) capped a four-year collegiate career at the University of Denver by helping the Pioneers reach the Frozen Four before joining the Griffins in the playoffs and appearing in one game.

3 – During Lukosevicius’ four years on Denver’s campus, the Pioneers advanced to the Frozen Four three times (2019, 2017, 2016), including winning the 2017 NCAA National Championship. In this past season’s semifinal matchup, Denver was ousted by UMass in overtime. In the 2017 championship game against Minnesota-Duluth, Lukosevicius scored all three of Denver’s goals in the 3-2 victory and was named the Frozen Four’s Most Outstanding Player.
5 – Lukosevicius is the fifth player from the University of Denver to suit up for the Griffins. He joins fellow Pioneers Adam Berkhoel (Griffin from 2007-08), Anders Bjork (1998-99), Joe Murphy (2001-02) and Brett Skinner (2012-13).
4 – Lukosevicius made his professional debut with the Griffins in Game 4 of the Central Division Semifinals against Chicago on April 24. Lukosevicius was the first player to make his Griffins debut in the Calder Cup Playoffs since Evgeny Svechnikov in Game 5 of the Central Division Semifinals at Lake Erie on May 14, 2016.
19 – A 5-foot-10, 193-pound forward and alternate captain, Lukosevicius ranked among Denver’s leaders with 19 goals (1st), 29 points (3rd), 10 assists (T7th), 138 shots (1st), +20 rating (T1st), five power play goals (T1st), four first goals (2nd), seven game-winning goals (1st) and two overtime goals (1st).
5 – Lukosevicius collected a handful of awards from both the NCAA and the NCHC in 2018-19 including being named a nominee for the 2019 Hobey Baker Award, a finalist for the NCHC Forward of the Year, named to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team, winning the NCHC Offensive Player of the Week honor on Nov. 5 and being recognized as the NCAA First Star of the Week on Nov. 6. In all games, he led the conference in shots and game-winning goals and also ranked among the leaders in goals (T2nd), power play goals (T8th) and plus/minus rating (T9th). In conference only games, Lukosevicius again placed among the NCHC’s leaders with 12 goals (2nd), 17 points (T16th), 83 shots (1st), three power play goals (T6th), five game-winning goals (1st) and a plus-eight rating (T16th).
105 – The Squamish, British Columbia, native skated in 158 games with Denver from 2015-19, notching 105 points (62-43—105), a plus-47 rating and 75 PIM. He set the school record with 20 career game-winning goals. As a junior in 2017-18, he logged collegiate career highs with 21 goals and 34 points in 41 games, ranking second on the team in goals and fourth in scoring. Lukosevicius was teammates with goaltender Filip Larsson, Detroit’s sixth-round selection in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, for one season (2018-19).
