400 – In the Red Wings’ season finale on April 6 against Buffalo at Little Caesars Arena, McIlrath skated in his 400th pro game and 50th in the NHL. Originally drafted 10th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, McIlrath has appeared in NHL contests with New York, Florida and Detroit, and in 353 AHL contests between Connecticut, Hartford, Springfield and Grand Rapids.
800 – In his seventh full season a pro, McIlrath logged his 800th penalty minute during a 3-1 win at Milwaukee on Jan. 9.
+13 – McIlrath posted a career-high plus-13 rating, which also placed third on the team.
17:52 – McIlrath logged a season-high 17:52 of ice time with the Red Wings during their 6-3 victory vs. Boston on March 31. With McIlrath in the lineup, Detroit posted a 5-2-0 record.
98 – McIlrath’s 98 penalty minutes tied for ninth among league blueliners and led the team for the second consecutive season. This was only the second instance in franchise history where the team’s PIM leader did not exceed 100 (Dan Renouf, 95 PIM in 2016-17). McIlrath is the first Griffin to pace the team in PIM in back-to-back campaigns since Darryl Bootland led Grand Rapids in four consecutive seasons from 2003-2007.
178 – McIlrath became the 178th Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL when he made his debut with the Red Wings on March 25 at San Jose. In 14:52 of ice time, he finished with a plus-one rating and two PIM in Detroit’s 3-2 triumph.
2 – The 6-foot-4, 235-pound defenseman picked up three assists during a two-game assist streak (tied career high) from Feb. 23-March 8.
3 – An alternate captain, McIlrath concluded his second full season and third with the Griffins. In 149 appearances in a Grand Rapids uniform, McIlrath has posted 31 points (8-23—31), a plus-18 rating and 259 PIM.
6 – McIlrath recorded six fighting majors, the most on the team.
During his second full season in the organization, defenseman and alternate captain Dylan McIlrath registered 10 points (1-9—10) and a team-high 98 PIM with the Griffins and skated in seven games during his Red Wings debut.
1 – McIlrath made his only goal of the season count, scoring the game-winner with 3:42 left in regulation during a 2-1 home victory against Milwaukee on Nov. 3.
