David Van Andel played a prominent role in bringing professional hockey back to Grand Rapids in 1996. He is co-owner and chairman of the two-time Calder Cup champion Griffins.
Van Andel is chairman/CEO of The Van Andel Institute for Education and Medical Research. He is a member of Amway's Board of Directors and serves on its Executive, Governance and Audit committees. He is also an entrepreneur involved in several other business interests in the natural and life science products industries.
Van Andel is active in many business and community organizations in Grand Rapids, including the Grand Rapids Right Place Program, the Hope College Board of Directors and The Economic Club of Grand Rapids.
