Assistant Athletic Trainer
An athletic trainer for Metro Health assigned to the Griffins, Anthony Polazzo begins his first full season with the club after having served several years as a volunteer on game nights.
In his expanded role, Polazzo will cover all home games and practices, as well as the team’s joint training camps with the Detroit Red Wings in Traverse City.
Polazzo obtained his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Northern Michigan University in 2011 and his master’s from Grand Valley State University in 2014. Employed by Metro Health as the athletic trainer at Grand Rapids Christian High School from 2015-18, he also teaches courses in the movement science department at GVSU.
