The Grand Rapids Griffins named Andrew Streitel its new public relations manager.

A former intern with the Griffins, Streitel now serves as the primary contact for interview requests, credential requests and game notes.

Prior to joining the Griffins, he was the assistant sports information director and was later promoted to the interim sports information director for Wartburg College in Iowa. While at the college, he was responsible for the communications duties for 23 varsity athletic teams.

He managed the school’s social media pages, website, provided games, press releases and fulfill interview requests by the media.  During games, he was in charge of recording stats by using a variety of software and uploading the files to the NCAA and other teams within the conference.

Streitel served as an intern for the Griffins’ 2019-20 season after winning its annual MOS College Sports Scribes Experience, which gives journalism students the opportunity to cover a professional sporting event, meet and learn from members of the media and possibly earn the chance to author a bylined story on MLive.

Streitel is a graduate of West Michigan University.
