2008-09: For the second straight year, served as a “black ace” during the Detroit Red Wings’ run to the Stanley Cup Finals…Played for the PlanetUSA All-Star Team at the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester, Mass., earning one assist during his team’s 14-11 win over the Canadian All-Stars…Set career highs with 78 games played, six goals, 27 assists and 33 points…Finished second on the team in games played, and his 76 penalty minutes ranked third overall and first among defensemen…Also led Griffins blueliners in games played while placing second in goals, assists and points…Tied for second on Grand Rapids with four first goals and tied for third with 15 power play assists…Enjoyed a great first half of the season, registering 25 points (5-20—25) to lead team defensemen through the first 40 games…Notched his first three-point game, 12/21/08 at Rochester. 2007-08: Served as a “black ace” during the Red Wings’ run to the Stanley Cup…Tied for first among Griffins defensemen with 75 games played during his first complete pro season…His 17 points (3-14—17) tied for fourth among team blueliners…Established his career high of 82 PIM. 2006-07: Appeared in all seven Griffins playoff games, ranking among the team’s leaders with two assists (T3rd overall, T1st among defensemen) and two points (T5th overall, 2nd among defensemen)…Named to the OHL’s Second All-Star Team…Concluded his OHL career with Kitchener, leading the team with 44 assists, placing second with a career-high 142 penalty minutes, and finishing third with a plus-23 rating…Ranked among the Rangers’ top defensemen with 11 goals (2nd) and 55 points (1st), and was eighth in scoring among OHL blueliners…In nine playoff games, he ranked third on Kitchener and first among its defensemen with nine assists and 11 points…Was runner-up for the OHL Outstanding Defenseman award…Ranked as the NHL’s 25th-best prospect by The Hockey News Future Watch…Captained the Czech Republic squad at the World Junior Championship in Sweden, tying for fourth on the team with four assists in six games. 2005-06: Made his AHL/pro debut with the Griffins, logging one assist in three games…Tallied an OHL career-high 58 points for Kitchener, placing third on the team…His scoring total led Rangers defensemen and stood sixth among OHL blueliners…Notched 46 assists, ranking second on Kitchener and fifth in the league…Led Rangers defensemen in goals (12), assists and points…Earned OHL Defenseman of the Month honors for November…Played for the Czech Republic at the World Junior Championship in Canada, recording one assist in six games. 2004-05: Played his first season in North America with Kitchener. 2003-04: Spent the majority of the season with Pardubice in the Czech Republic, where he was rated as the top underage draft prospect in Europe.
