Dan DeVos

Biography:
A Grand Rapids native, Dan DeVos led the way for the return of professional hockey to West Michigan in 1996. Since then, the Griffins organization has strived to meet a standard of excellence in everything it does. That excellence shows on the ice, where the team has won five division titles in either the AHL or the International Hockey League over the last 10 seasons.
DeVos, who was named to the executive committee for the West Michigan Sports Commission in 2007, is also a member of the AHLs executive committee and part owner of the NBAs Orlando Magic. He was named the IHLs Executive of Year in 1997 and served as the leagues chairman of the board during its final two seasons.
DeVos is president and CEO of DP Fox Ventures, LLC, a Grand Rapids-based business development and management firm that employs more than 500 professionals through companies such as Fox Insurance Agency and Fox Motor Group, a retail automotive group representing 33 lines at 17 locations.
A member of the board of directors of Alticor Inc, the parent company of Amway Corporation, DeVos also serves as president/CEO of Powell Pointe Resort, the developer of Cape Eleuthera, and of Cape Eleuthera Properties, the manager of the Princess Cays facility, on the island of Eleuthera, The Bahamas. Additionally, he is chairman of Georgian International, based in Barrie, Ontario.
DeVos is involved in a variety of local business and civic organizations, including Hope Network, Spectrum Health Hospital and the Grand Valley State University Foundation. He also serves as a trustee for Northwood University, his alma mater.
He and his wife, Pam, have two daughters and one son.
