Ninth Annual Matinee: The Griffins will welcome more than 5,000 elementary through high school students for their ninth annual matinee game presented by Lake Michigan Credit Union. In a major educational event for West Michigan schools, elementary and middle school students will learn about topics centered on life science, physical science and technology through interactive displays on the concourse prior to the game.

Career Forum: Prior to the game, high school students will participate in a career forum focusing on the emerging careers of tomorrow, with presentations from West Michigan experts and professionals. Lake Michigan Credit Union Business Development Manager Vickie Smith will also discuss financial responsibility following high school and share information on the Hutt Scholarship.

Winning Wednesday: This game marks the first Winning Wednesday of the 2009-10 season. If the Griffins win, each fan in attendance will receive a free ticket to the Griffins vs. San Antonio Rampage game on Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Veterans Day Special: In honor of Veterans Day, all active and retired military personel can show their military I.D. at the box office to receive either a $10 lower bowl ticket or a $5 upper bowl ticket.

Lunch with the Griffins: Fans can go to griffinshockey.com/promocode and enter the code “downtown” to receive a ticket special good for a $10 upper bowl ticket and a $5 food voucher.

Library Day: Fans who present their Grand Rapids Public Library or Kent District Library card at the Van Andel Arena box office on the day of the game or at The Zone anytime during regular business hours (M-F 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sat. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) can purchase a lower bowl ticket for just $10, a savings of $7. Limit four tickets per card per person.

Dollar Beers, Dollar Dogs: The ever-popular promotion runs from 6-8 p.m., when fans can enjoy $1 domestic drafts and $1 hot dogs while supplies last.

College Night: Presented by McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon, college students can show their ID to purchase a lower bowl ticket for just $10 (regular price $17). Limit one ticket per ID per person. Students are also encouraged to stop by the McFadden’s concourse table to receive a free pass to the post-game party at McFadden’s.

Get in the D-ZONE: The Griffins and the “Free Beer and Hot Wings Show” at WGRD 97.9 have teamed up again this season to bring back the D-Zone. Football Frenzy: Detroit Lions Hall of Famer Charlie Sanders will meet fans and sign autographs prior to the game.

Football Giveaway: The first 1,500 kids 12 and younger will receive a Griffins autographed-panel football.

Jersey Auction: Griffins players will wear football-themed jerseys that will be signed and auctioned off following the game inside the Huntington Club to benefit the Jenison Public Education Foundation.

Programs Assisting Refugee Acculturation Item Drive: Fans are encouraged to bring toothbrushes, hand soap and deodorant as they enter the game to donate to PARA's effort in helping incoming refugees.

Post-Game Skate: Bring your skates and take to the ice for the Post-Game Open Skate.
