Your Chance to Purchase the Griffins/Van Andel Arena Playhouse!

For those who had their hearts set on it, here is a special one-time opportunity to purchase the exact Griffins/Van Andel Arena Playhouse that was custom built by Out on a Limb Playhouses in Grand Haven and raffled this season as a benefit for the Griffins Youth Foundation.

The raffle winner, an enthusiastic supporter of the foundation, is not in position to take possession of the playhouse and instead has chosen to sell it, generously pledging to donate at least 50 percent of the proceeds back to the foundation.

If you are interested in purchasing the playhouse, please submit your best offer (minimum $1,500) to Randy Cleves, Griffins senior director of public relations, by noon this Friday, April 23. Offers can be placed by either sending an email to rcleves@griffinshockey.com (please include your name, city, state and daytime phone number) or calling (616) 774-4585 ext. 3046. The person submitting the highest offer will then be contacted by the Griffins for arrangement of payment and delivery.

While the Griffins are helping facilitate this sale, please be aware that the ultimate transaction will be between the purchaser and the raffle winner, who will only accept payment by cash or cashier’s check.

Also, please note that the raffle winner has opted to keep the HDTV, PlayStation3, NHL 2010 video game and five of the original books that were originally included with the playhouse. As a result, the current amenities are as follows:

• Two stadium-style seats
• Custom-made bench modeled after those in the Griffins' locker room
• "Ice-rink" floor with dasher boards
• Griffins hanging scoreboard light
• Built-in street hockey net
• Three street hockey sticks and balls
• Hockey Guys playset
• 11 hockey-themed books for children
• Free delivery and site preparation/landscaping within 50 miles of Grand Rapids
• Lighting and electric installed, cable-ready, weather-sealed exterior.

Electric/cable hookup and any necessary permits will be the responsibility of the purchaser. The playhouse is being sold as-is, with no express or implied guarantees or warrantees.
